Description
Abundance of stream benthic macroinvertebrates at 21 stream reaches of the river Kinzig.
Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 9 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods
EU water framework directive compliant sampling method according to Haase et al (2004), Limnologica 34,349-365. Sampling was done biannually. For discussion of AQEM protocol see: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/S0075-9511(04)80005-7. Note that the values for organismQuantity are given per sq metre (as in original data) whereas the actual sampleSizeValue is 1.25 sq. m. The values of organismQuantity should be adjusted upward to reflect the sampling effort over an area of 1.25 sq.m.
Study Extent | Reach scale sampling in lower mountain streams and rivers, German stream types 5 and 9. |
